人工関節は、一度の手術でどのぐらい長持ちするのですか? 答え これは、股関節と膝関節ですこし違うのですが、詳しくは当センターの医師および、看護スタッフにお聞きください。10年から20年以上も前ですと、5〜10年が限界で、そのあとに再手術が必要になるといわれた時代もありました。現在では大切に使っていただければ、最低でも15〜20年は長持ちすると言われています。ただし、手術後に体重を増やさず、万歩計などでご自分の活動性をしっかりコントロールし、筋力トレーニングを怠らず、定期的な診察を決して欠かさない、という条件がつきます。自分が100％動ける範囲の70〜80％程度に普段の生活をコントロールしていただければ十分に可能であると考えています。骨に金属を固定して長持ちさせるために、現在まで世界中の人工関節の専門家の先生方が研究を行ってきました。まず、骨と金属を固定したあと、長年ゆるまないこと。関節ですから、必ず動く部分があり、そこで“すりきれる”ことは避けられません。このすりきれをできるだけ少なくするための努力が必死に行われてきました。このため、人工関節の材質、デザインなどは日々研究されています。手術前の患者さんの骨の質や、年齢、体重にも影響されることもありますから、手術を受ける前に主治医の先生と十分に相談してください。 |
How long does the artificial joint last? Ten or twenty years ago, the artificial joint in those days lasted 5 to 10 years at longest. After 5 to 10 years, the second surgery was necessary. Today, the artificial joint can last 15 to 20 years at shortest if the patient properly follow the surgeonﾕs instruction. The instruction includes weight control, activity control with a pedometer, periodical check-ups, and muscle exercises. We believe that the joints last 15 to 20 years if you control your daily activity with 70 ﾐ 80 % of your full range of motion. For the long-lasting artificial joint, many specialized surgeons of all over the world have been studying the fixation of the bone and the metal. The primal purpose of these studies is to prevent loosening for a long period of time after the bone-metal fixation. Considering that the joint articulation is to move around, it is imperative to wear between the metal and the bone. A lot of endeavor has been done to minimize this wear. The studies on the material and the design of the artificial joint continue today. The qualities of the bone, the age or the weight before the surgery are important factors in the joint replacement surgery. We recommend a thorough consultation with the surgeon before the surgery. |
